How are Body-Solid SDP solid head dumbbells manufactured? – Body-Solid starts with solid cast iron heads, each cast with a hole to accept the handle. Solid steel handles are first machined for quality and consistency throughout the dumbbell run, and then stamped with a medium knurl for a secure grip no matter what the exercise performed. Durable chrome plating is then applied to handles to best resist chipping, flaking, peeling and corrosion. Handles are then inserted into the pre-cast holes in each head and welded into place for a strong bond to prevent any loosening or spinning of heads over time. After welded assembly is completed, the rounded cast iron dumbbell heads are overmolded with quality natural virgin rubber. The virgin rubber minimizes the off-putting smell often associated with economy dumbbells coated with recycled rubber. Finally, large and easy-to-read weight sizes are embossed on the end of each dumbbell making your search for the perfect weight effortless. The result of this manufacturing process is a set of pro solid dumbbells offering superior durability in all weight room settings and a great long term investment for any homeowner, personal trainer, or club owner!
