Mixed martial arts (MMA) is a full contact combat sport that allows a wide variety of fighting techniques and skills, from a mixture of martial arts traditions and non-traditions, to be used in competitions. The rules allow the use of both striking as well as grappling techniques, both while standing and on the ground. Such competitions allow martial artists of different backgrounds to compete.
A huge part of the mixed martial artist's training day is comprised of high intensity strength training. To get to a minimal level of fitness for the sport, you need to start some form of high intensity training. Most mixed martial artists use a combination of high intensity interval training (HIIT) and some kind of functional weight or resistance training to get explosive strength.

Grappling Gloves - Mixed martial arts require fighting with mma grappling gloves. Punching is a very common tactic that is used in any martial art.
Thai Pads - Pad work is a superior training method because it allows you to make contact and to work on attributes like speed, power, timing, form and conditioning.

Training Mats - Keep protected while training. A smooth vinyl surface and slightly softer foam will reduces mat burns and is easier to keep clean.
Heavy Bags - The heavy bag is probably one of the most important martial arts training bag that you can use. It's mostly used for developing balance and power, but if you are hitting it quickly, it will also work speed.
