Instuctions for Use: For new matting remove grease using a high strength degreaser, rinse thoroughly and let dry. Apply Rubber Mat Sealant at the rate of 400-600 square feet per gallon, let dry (about 30 minutes, dependent on temperature and humidity). Apply second coat at the rate of 800-1000 square feet per gallon and let dry. Do not apply sealer too thick or it will not cure properly. Allow to cure a minimum of 24 hours before getting coating wet. Coating will develop full strength in 7 days. For best results apply with paint pad, micro fiber brush, or PADCO type applicator, do NOT use paint roller. Micro fiber pad with pole can be purchased at most home improvement centers. Maintain by periodic cleaning using a neutral pH cleaner.
Testimonial:
"We are a new all indoor pet care facility in Petaluma, California that opened our doors in April of 2007. We board dogs, cats and birds; we groom dogs and cats; we train dogs and of course we do doggie daycare!
The reason I am writing this note is because we have recently experienced a breakthrough in how we clean and care for our rubber playroom floors. We have 3000 sq. ft. of doggie daycare divided into three separate playrooms. All three playrooms have 1/2" thick recycled rubber floor matting wall to wall.
With daily use these floors get plenty dirty and then need a fast and complete cleaning every night. However, we found that after being cleaned and the ventilation system shuts off we would get a nasty odor. We knew the odor was coming from the floor but were not sure if is was the rubber floor itself or the residue from the cleaning solutions, or if it was Rover's leftovers which were ground into the pores of the flooring.
After many attempts to treat and solve the problem with different cleaning solutions and methods we called RB Rubber. When all else fails call the manufacturer, right? They were most helpful in explaining the composition and construction of the flooring and some of the challenges they've encountered with different client's uses of their flooring. Anyway, the best thing they did was put us in touch with a great company, CleanBreak Technologies, which developed several different products designed especially for rubber flooring! I was able to talk directly to the owners who developed these products. They informed me that it is necessary to thoroughly clean the flooring before using it. Oops, we had never done this!
Their primary cleaning product which cleans and degreases is called Neutral pH Cleaner & Degreaser. You just wash or mop the floor and leave it, no rinsing; just one simple step. It made the floor squeaky clean where before it had a filmy residue. CleanBreak Technologies developed another product to seal the flooring once it was cleaned called Rubber Flooring & Mat Sealant. A couple of easily applied coats close up all the millions of pores in the flooring where foreign materials and bacteria can accumulate and smell. This is a one-time application. Lastly, they also created a concentrated disinfectant/deoderant called Clean Break. It was designed to be applied periodically to sanitize the flooring and clean it too, once the initial cleaning and sealing was done. This product has a great smell and kills the unseen bacteria that causes the odor.
Well, we took notes on what they told us about how to prepare the flooring and apply these solutions. The difference was incredible. Immediately we noticed that caustic smell was gone! We've just recently learned that the Neutral pH and Clean Break can be combined for an extra good cleaning and disinfecting again with only one step.
Needless to say we highly recommend these CleanBreak Technologies products. We've tried them, tested them and we like them, and CleanBreak Technologies has excellent client services!" - Grant Garl, Owner, Fit 'N' Furry
