The Ironcompany ICGRBS 6 Bar Gun Rack can be installed to the wall in one of two ways to support your facilitys needs. When mixing and matching shorter bars (such as 5 straight bars) with longer bars, the two vertical brackets can be set at 48 inches apart which allows the bar shaft to rest into the notch on each side. The laser cut notches on each side are uniquely designed with a large enough curvature which also permit them to perfectly cradle a two inch diameter bar sleeve. This allows for alternate placement of the brackets at 64 inches apart so that the gun crack notches can hold the bar sleeves rather than the bar shaft. Traditionally bar sleeves have a hardened finish that hold up much better against scratching and wear from storage racks. Also, many Olympic lifting bars have deep knurling that extends right out to the end of the gripping area (near the inside sleeve collar) for wide hand placement when performing snatches and clean and jerks. The wider wall mounting configuration is recommended for most mens 20kg Olympic Competition Bars and womens 15kg Olympic Training Bars as to not dull or scratch the bars sharp knurling and shaft finish (such as black oxide or stainless) from repeated racking on and off the laser cut steel supports over time. When mounting to drywall or smooth plaster wall surfaces, either the 48 or 64 mounting option works perfectly with traditional 16 center-on-center construction spacing of wooden studs.
