rings and suspension
Gymnastics Rings and Suspension Training Products both utilize the users own bodyweight as a form of resistance to increase strength and muscle definition. Gymnastics ring training involves gymnastics rings usually constructed of wood or ABS plastic. These rings are connected to polyester or nylon webbing straps that have an integrated cam buckle to adjust the length. Ring anchor points can be rafters, Cross-Training rigs or any solid point that is capable of safely supporting the user’s bodyweight. Suspension training products also use bodyweight as their source of resistance but in a different way. With suspension training, the user’s feet are touching the ground. When the user is ready to perform an exercise, such as a suspended chest press, they will adjust their feet so that their body is at an angle that gives them the desired resistance needed to perform the exercise. Moving the feet toward or away from the anchor point lessens or increases the payload on the muscle being worked. For added benefit, products like the CrossCore180® incorporate a pulley that add instability and a higher level of challenge for even more results than standard suspension straps.
