Abdominal and Core Benches are designed to exercise all sections of the abs and core, including the oblique’s. In their simplest form, an abdominal bench consists of a padded bench that is set to a fixed incline allowing the user to perform abdominal bench workouts at home or at the gym. Other ab bench variations can allow different degrees of incline and difficulty via a pop-pin adjustment knob. An abdominal bench with ladder allows the user to adjust the angle position simply by hooking the bench to a higher or lower bar on the ladder. Other abdominal bench machine choices include the Ab Coaster and Ab Solo.

Sit-Ups or Crunches are not the only effective ab exercises. To really target the lower abs and hip flexors, vertical knee raises or leg raises can be performed on a Vertical Knee Raise Tower (VKR). By providing a supportive back pad with forearm pads and handles directly out in front, the user can effectively isolate the abs with proper form during the execution of the exercise.
