Detecto 439 Mechanical Physician Scale with Height Rod
The Detecto 439 is a stationary, eye-level mechanical physician scale designed for weight measurement in pounds. It has a 450 lb. capacity with 4 oz graduations and includes a height rod for measuring standing height from 24 to 84 inches. The mechanical weigh-beam system requires no batteries, electrical outlet, or electronic setup.
Pound-Reading Eye-Level Weigh Beam
Model 439 uses a pound-only die-cast weigh beam that can be read from either side. The eye-level position keeps the beam and sliding poises within convenient viewing range for the operator.
To determine weight, the operator moves the large and small poises until the beam pointer balances within the trig loop. The scale should be zero balanced before use according to Detecto’s instructions.
Integrated Height Rod
The included height rod measures standing height from 24 to 84 inches, or 60 to 212 centimeters. The rod is marked in 0.125-inch and 0.1-centimeter graduations.
Combining the scale and height rod allows weight and standing height to be recorded at one stationary measurement station.
Stationary Configuration Without Wheels or Handpost
The Detecto 439 is the stationary height-rod model in this portion of the eye-level physician-scale family. Transport wheels and a handpost are not included.
Choose model 439 when a fixed placement is preferred. Buyers who need built-in wheels for controlled relocation should compare the corresponding wheeled model rather than assuming every eye-level scale includes them.
