Unlike traditional fixed-path Smith machines, the patented carriage system allows controlled vertical and forward-and-backward movement while helping guide the bar through natural lifting patterns. When desired, the integrated gantry catch can secure the bar for conventional vertical Smith machine operation.

This combination allows facilities to support a broad range of strength-training exercises without dedicating separate floor space to both a Smith machine and a standalone rack.
