Schiek Rx Cross-Training Neoprene Compression Sleeves for Knees and Elbows - What are the benefits of wearing knee sleeves for power lifting or cross-training exercise? Knee sleeves are designed to provide the joints with warmth, support, vertical stability, and lateral stability. Use of knee sleeves promotes blood flow through compression, which in turn reduces swelling and aids recovery. Knee sleeves are not intended to be used continuously but used during your exercise period when the knees or arms are actively engaged. Neoprene sleeves provide mild to moderate compression as compared to knee wraps which offer much more extreme compression (since they are often banded around the knee as tightly as possible). Because they are not as tight or heavy on compression as knee wraps, knee sleeves are favored for more functional training movements and vigorous movements requiring more mobility (such as explosive jumps and lateral movement training). The use of the sleeves is encouraged when performing squats (full knee bends) and Olympic movements such as snatch or clean and jerk. Knee sleeves help limit the risk of injury and provide additional support against joint stresses and strains put on by heavy lifts and repetitive movements during strength training or your cross-training WOD. The Schiek Rx Compression Sleeves also function well as elbow sleeves for powerlifting and high-intensity training by reducing direct pressure on the elbow joint and maintaining warmth throughout a workout. Therapeutic sleeves are a great rehab tool to battle through lingering joint pain or tendinitis and help promote healing.

Instructions for Use:
When Used as Knee Sleeves
Probably the best way to slip the sleeve on is to turn the sleeve half way down so that half of the inside rubber side is exposed. Avoid getting your fingernails in contact with the rubber material by holding the sleeve between the first joint of your thumb and fingers while pulling it on until it is just past the middle point of your knee. Once you have it that far, flip up the folded knee sleeve so the remaining rubber covers the thighs over the knee joint. If, for some reason, you have a difficult time sliding the sleeves on, sprinkle a little talcum powder on the inside of your sleeve before sliding it on.
When Used as Elbow Sleeves
The principle for the wear and care of the sleeves on the knees also applies for their use as elbow sleeves. If you have difficulty in sliding the band to cover the elbows, try turning it inside out; however one of the true benefits from the elbow sleeve will be lost when it is worn this way.
Care of the Sleeves
After each use rinse bands with warm running water and pat dry with a towel. Then allow them to air dry. Every now and then use mild soap to wash band and rinse thoroughly. Proper use and caring for the Schiek RX Cross Training Sleeves can make them last longer.
NOTE: Those who are hypersensitive or allergic to neoprene should not use Schiek Rx sleeves.
