What are the advantages of a Stainless Bar vs. a Hard Chrome bar?
Stainless Steel provides superior corrosion resistance. In Salt spray testing (accelerated corrosion testing) a Hard Chrome Bar shows signs of rust in approximately 24 hours and a Stainless Bar goes beyond 120 hours. The big advantage is the Stainless Bar can be cosmetically touched up as needed if it rusts, where chrome cannot. You may also soften the knurl with sandpaper if desired. Hard Chrome is a non-corrosion resistant coating and NOT desirable in wet or humid environments.

Best bar ever
Very fast delivery. The knurling on this bar is the best there is. You have to feel it to appreciate just how good it is. It’s not aggressive but you know the grip won’t let you down. The stainless steels allows a very unique and enjoyable lifting experience. The whip, the sound the bar makes, and just everything about this bar makes you want to keep on using it. I’m so happy with my purchase and I’m definitely getting my wife one soon! Well done American Barbell!

I was looking for a good bearing barbell for the OL. Narrowed it down to this comp. SS OL barbell vs. the rogue euro bar. It was a tough choice since you can't really physically test either one out unless a gym has both. (Eleiko was considered, but way too expensive and people mentioned the knurl was alittle too rough for repetitive work; also their cheaper sports bar seemed to have lower online reviews compared to the AB and rogue). Vulcan barbell was considered, but it is not made in USA, so was out. I have rogue products (rogue barbell, rogue westside power bar etc. and I like their products). however the stainless steel aspect of this bar and the type of bearings used in the AB is what made me choose this bar over the rogue (it is also cheaper than the rogue euro which was a win win., also the rogue training Olympic barbell has a SS version, but that training OL barbell had lower reviews compared to the euro version) The AB bar is well packaged on delivery. it is a beautiful bar. The knurling is nice. not too sharp, but not passive. it really does just grip you back and is comfortable, easy to hold. the spin of the bar is smooth and controlled. it is hard to explain, but it just rotates as it needs too and not just spin for the sake of spinning. it is almost like the bearings are weighted and spin just enough to keep the center of gravity on the bar. there is absolute no play in the sleeves. you drop the bar with weight, there is just a thump of the bumpers. no rattling of the bar at all. I am very happy with my purchase and have no regrets so far. I'm sure the rogue euro bar is nice, but I definitely do not regret my purchase of this comp. SS AB barbell. I think it is well worth the $$$.

Absolutely superb bar
We have a small community of weightlifters at our gym; most of our bars are multi-purpose bars. But we have another very high-end bearing bar from a popular company, and this has proved to be the more popular bar among our lifters. The knurl isn't overly aggressive, but the bare steel gives it a stickiness that you just have to feel for yourself. But what's most impressive are the spin and the construction. The spin is not only buttery smooth, but it's virtually silent. The sleeves don't spin endlessly without plates loaded on, like some bars do; instead, they spin with remarkable smoothness and consistency regardless of the load on the bar. The sleeves even seem to fit our bumpers just a bit more snugly. Interestingly, this bar is also very quiet; in the extension of a ****** or clean, you won't get that "rattle" that you get with other bars—just a consistent vibration. Even when dropped, the bar doesn't rattle. I take that as a sign of a bar made to very high tolerances. Suffice to say that we're sold on American Barbell and plan to purchase many more of their bars for our gym in the future.

Best Oly Bar I have used.
Bought this bar on black Friday 2016(Now March 2017), I wanted to lift with it for awhile before I gave my honest review. It does not disappoint... When performing high rep low weight the spin is subdued and does not cause you to have to wait for it to settle down before the next rep. This is huge for HITT. When you want to go heavy the spin picks up and does not fight you on your way to clean. The Stainless Steel is shaft provides a great grip and mild Knurling, no need to dust everyone out of the area with chalk. Initially a tad bit to much whip for my taste, but I have gotten use to it after 4 months of use. Overall the best bar available in this price range.

The bar has easily met any expectation I had before it came in. The fit and finish is second to none and would tell anyone considering this bar to buy one. Although when I got the bar unpacked I was playing around with the spin of the collars and was a little disappointed. But as soon as I put some weight on it the bar just came to life with just how smooth and precise everything is. Hands down the nicest bar I have and also the nicest bar I have ever used.
