What are the advantages of a Stainless Bar vs. a Hard Chrome bar?
Stainless Steel provides superior corrosion resistance. In Salt spray testing (accelerated corrosion testing) a Hard Chrome Bar shows signs of rust in approximately 24 hours and a Stainless Bar goes beyond 120 hours. The big advantage is the Stainless Bar can be cosmetically touched up as needed if it rusts, where chrome cannot. You may also soften the knurl with sandpaper if desired. Hard Chrome is a non-corrosion resistant coating and NOT desirable in wet or humid environments.

Stainless Steel Precision Training Bar
I researched for weeks nefore purchasing this bar. I read all th pro and cons of the bar vs. it's closest competitor, and the AB bar in paper seem superior. In real life the bar exceeded my expectations and I am very pleased with my purchase. Highly recommended for those that do Crossfit. I wanted to buy the barbells with the bar but AB seem to be a hot item and the barbells were out of stock.

Stainless Steel bars are awesome!
I got this bar a few months back after I bought an AB Super Power Bar. Very well made. Precision all the way. American Barbell has kind of got me 'addicted' to Stainless Steel bars. I hate the black zinc finishes that are popular. They don't hold up well at all and I've always thought that the public was 'conned' into buying the 'cool looking sinister black' marketing because it was easier to produce since most companies don't produce Stainless and/or do their own chroming. The more I use it, the better it spins. With my level of use, I don't think that I will ever be needing a much more expensive bearing bar so I'm glad that there was a bushing bar option available. I bought it on sale for what I consider a 'steal' price, though I still would have bought one at the regular price - no problem - if that had been necessary. I LOVE the stainless steel. Bare bar grip and feel without the same upkeep as a bare non-stainless bar. The grip is mild-moderate which is good for me for a high rep bar. Honestly, I don't see how I could have done better unless I paid 2-3x the price. Nothing lacking in this bar. I am 100% satisfied with this purchase...and the same goes for their Super Power Bar.

Well-made, excellent grip
GRIP: Only slightly harder on the hands than others I've used, but FAR better grip. It's this lovely sandpaper feel that I used to think was fantasy. WHIP: It is sort of rigid for a weightlifting or even a combo bar but still springs a little on your shoulders during a clean. At 400 lbs/180 kg squats/deadlifts (maybe heavier but I can't lift more) it flexes 1/2 inch but doesn't oscillate. SPIN: Not much to say... it's a bushing bar, the spin is good enough. CONSTRUCTION: Precision workmanship with tight tolerances- less than 1mm of side-to-side play (can't feel/hear when walking out a squat), and the bar is nearly silent when dropped- no clatter. FINISH: The stainless steel is beautiful and shiny. No oxidation so far (one month). Some people like grooves on sleeves; I do not, but this bar is a good balance- not smooth like a curl bar, yet the grooves are very fine like a closed book's pages, you can comfortably scratch with your fingernail, and they hold change plates as well as deeper grooves do. Bottom line- one heck of a barbell, I'm very glad to have found it.

Great Bar
Could not be more pleased with this bar and company. Packaging is well done, customer service is great, and bar is a work of art. I live in the southeast and have a lot of humidity to deal with, so the stainless is a real plus. Spin is what you would expect from a bushing bar. The knurling is just spot on. Nothing harsh, but it just sticks to your hand and gives plenty of control/confidence when doing cleans or snatches. The bar also works great for powerlifts as well.
