Exercisers and trainers will appreciate the graduating handle sizes, with smaller diameter handles on lower weight increments for female users and smaller muscle group training, and larger diameter handles on heaviest increments for a more secure grip and more even weight distribution across the palm during heavier dumbbell presses. With only 3 consistent dumbbell head diameters (5, 6, and 8 inches depending on weight range), overall space required on storage racks is better managed, making this a great choice of dumbbell for horizontal tiered saddle racks and tray racks that accommodate round head dumbbells.

How are Body-Solid SDP solid head dumbbells manufactured? – Body-Solid starts with solid cast iron end weights, each cast with a hole to accept the handle. Solid steel handles are first machined for quality and consistency throughout the dumbbell run, and then stamped with a medium knurl for a secure grip no matter what the exercise performed. Durable chrome plating is then applied to handles to best resist chipping, flaking, peeling and corrosion. Handles are then inserted into the pre-cast holes on each dumbbell end and welded into place for a strong bond to prevent any loosening or spinning of heads over time. After welded assembly is completed, the rounded cast iron dumbbell heads are overmolded with quality natural virgin rubber. The virgin rubber minimizes the off-putting smell often associated with economy dumbbells coated with recycled rubber. Finally, large and easy-to-read weight designations are embossed on the end of each dumbbell making your search for the perfect weight effortless.
