USA Made Legend Fitness Olympic Barbell Jack and Deadlift Jack The 3167 Olympic Bar Jack from Legend Fitness is a weight room tool used to lift and elevate an Olympic bar off the ground to assist with easier loading and unloading of weight plates during Olympic lifting and power lifting. A key component of progressive strength training is the addition of more and more weight to the bar during set execution of deadlifts, power cleans, and other explosive Olympic lifts. Since Olympic bumper plates are designed to be uniform in diameter for impact distribution, once the first weight plate is placed onto a bar sleeve, the next weight plate to be added requires that the bar end be lifted so that the plate can properly slide down the sleeve. As more and more bumpers are added, the weighted bar ends can become very taxing to lift and manipulate during plate loading or unloading, even for the strongest lifter. For super heavy deadlifts where bar sleeves are loaded to the max right out to the ends (leaving just enough room for collars), sometimes two people are required for this process.
The Legend Barbell Jack is simple in engineering yet completely effective in its purpose. Just prop the jack under the gripping area of the Olympic bar and pull back on the handle to elevate. The long handle, rounded feet, and a super low fulcrum point provide the necessary leverage needed to raise even the heaviest of loaded bars off of the rubber gym flooring or lifting platform just enough to make weight exchange easy. Unlike a smaller single bar jack which only raises one side of the bar at a time, the Legend 3167 is a double deadlift bar jack which raises both ends at once for as long as needed. Since the entire bar is horizontal when raised up, and the bumper plates are elevated enough so they are not making contact with the ground surface, weight lifting plates can easily be added or removed without difficulty or strain on the lower back.
