Stairway Self Powered Stair Climbing Machine - JACOBS LADDER (JACOBS-LADDER-STAIRWAY) – The Stairway Stair Climbing Cardio Machine by Jacobs Ladder is a stationary self-propelled revolving stair machine designed to provide low-impact cardio workouts in commercial gyms and clubs. The Stairway differentiates itself from other rotating stair climbers by providing user defined speed and workout intensity without the use of a motor. The users position on the steps is relative to the operating speed of the staircase. The higher you climb the faster it turns. This is accomplished via a height adjustable waist strap and cable mechanism that engages and releases the brake as more tension is applied. The width comes in at only 30.5” and ceiling height requirements are reduced to 8.5’ making the Stairway a much more viable option for those putting it in a home or location limited on space. What is the difference between the Stairway and the Stairway GTL? While both units are self powered and are not required to be plugged in to operate, there is a distinct difference in the resistance mechanism. The original Stairway uses airflow to set the speed and braking. The Stairway GTL uses a generator to not only produce the speed but also to generate electricity to run the display but does not use a resistance belt and cable like the original Stairway.
